Troy Jackson's Abortion Record: A Decade of Restriction, Then a U-Turn

At 13:13 · chapter starts 10:45

Megyn Kelly digs into what may be the most damaging issue facing Troy Jackson's Senate campaign: his decade-long anti-abortion record. CNN uncovered candidate questionnaires from 2004 and 2010 showing Jackson — then in his early forties — stated abortion should never be legal, and declined to check exceptions for rape, incest, fetal disability, or to protect the mother's health. He also supported requiring women seeking abortions to receive information on fetal development and fetal pain, and to view a fetal monitor or ultrasound. Jackson's position shifted after 2017 when he was 49, eventually earning a perfect Planned Parenthood rating. By 2023, as state Senate President, he co-sponsored a law allowing abortion after fetal viability at physician discretion — among the most expansive in the nation. But a 2022 Maine Public profile noted he 'admits to struggling with abortion,' and a Democratic PAC ran attack ads against him during his gubernatorial primary, calling him 'extremely wrong for Maine' on the issue. A University of New Hampshire poll still shows Jackson leading Collins 49% to 46% — but with 99 days to the election, his record may define the race.

CNN unearthed questionnaires showing Troy Jackson opposed abortion without exception in 2004 and 2010 — including to save the mother's life. By 2017 he had a perfect Planned Parenthood rating, and by 2023 he was co-sponsoring one of the most expansive abortion laws in the country. The timing and sincerity of that shift is now the central question of the Maine Senate race.

Why the Israel-Killed-Kirk Theory Doesn't Hold Up

#2535 - Andrew Wilson · Aug 5, 2026 News

The microphone-bomb theory fails on every physical front: no smoke, no ignition, mic on the wrong side of the wound. And the .30-06 rifle round used is extensively documented by the US Army — it does not always produce a through-and-through wound. Wilson argues this is a well-studied projectile with well-understood behavior.
