Hall walks Tucker through the logic of covenant theology: God operated through an Old Covenant with Israel, whose rites and rituals (Passover, sacrifice, temple) were 'word pictures' designed to prepare the Jewish people to recognize their Messiah. Jesus inaugurated the New Covenant at the Last Supper, the final authentic Passover. Crucially, Galatians 3 states that the promise to Abraham's 'seed' refers to one person — Jesus Christ — and then, by extension, to all who believe in him.
