Epstein Offered Weinstein Partnership — And What That Means

At 1:12:50 · chapter starts 1:08:20

In the transition from music to darker territory, Bill Gates comes up as an example of disingenuous public altruism, which leads to Epstein. Weinstein discloses something he says he has never said on a podcast before: Epstein personally offered him a financial partnership, with a single condition — he had to get rid of his existing partners. The test was loyalty through betrayal: show me you'll stab the people you work with, and I'll make you rich. Weinstein declined. He now reflects that accepting would likely have resulted in him being 'made rich or deceased — probably both.' He recognized Epstein immediately as coming from a particular element — the Hesh character from The Sopranos, Moe Greene from The Godfather — a person who gets things done that aren't within the law. He tried to warn Peter Thiel, who initially thought Weinstein was overreacting.
