Even if AI eventually creates wonderful new jobs — on Mars, in space, in robotics — it will take a minimum of 20 years to get there. The 61-year-old assembly line worker in Cleveland cannot retrain to be a Mars engineer. The transition gap is real, enormous, and completely unplanned for by any government or company.
