Television was not Jacqui's original destination. Her trajectory — ballet, modelling, and then air hostessing — pointed in a very different direction. But she describes seeing a television programme, being struck by the atmosphere and the host, and gradually realising that presenting might be something she could do. The structure of television — scripts, formats, a clear role — gave her the container that her introversion required. She discusses presenting Serataron and the satisfaction of inhabiting a professional role with clear creative parameters. What emerges is a picture of a woman who has found a form of performance that suits her particular psychology: enough structure to feel safe, enough creativity to feel alive.
