As the meeting wraps, Werchuk suddenly pivots and asks if she could get him a direct meeting with Montoya. Valle pauses, then says — to everyone's shock — that she probably could. She's been working in this town a long time. She'll try. Werchuk practically levitates. 'We're pulling at any string we can,' he says. 'We'll change our flights. Whatever.'
